Venue: Kaitaia Golf Club (Ahipara)

Our legenday West Coast 'one base' comp has been held at Ahipara since 2018. Entries are restricted to 50 boats, and boats must launch off the beach at Ahipara. Daily prizegiving nights for the three days of fishing, usually with a band for entertainment. With James Tattersall as our Master of Ceremonies there's always plenty of fun and banter.

Cold hard cash prizes are on offer:

$10k for Heaviest Striped Marlin

$5k for Second Heaviest Striped Marlin

$2k for Third Heaviest Striped Marlin

$2k for Heaviest other billfish (excluding broadbill swordfish)

$1k for Heaviest Tuna (excluding skipjack/albacore)
